You have probably heard someone use this expression when they seemingly have tried everything to get something accomplished, “What’s it going to take to…….”
In the Old Testament, God sent prophets to the people to try to get them to change their ways. One of these prophets was Amos.
In Amos 4:6 he tells the people God’s message saying, “I brought hunger to every city and famine to every town. But still you would not return to me. says the Lord.”
God is saying in essence, “what’s it going to take to get you people to return and follow me?”
We cannot know if the causes of problems in our lives are put there by God to get us to return to him, but they may be. Either way, however, we should turn to him for help, comfort, and resolution of the struggles in our lives.
Dear Lord, When we have negative experiences, may they remind us to return to you. You are our strength, protection and salvation. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Amen! In 1890 the divorce rate in America was around 5%. Today it is around 53%. In every Christian bookstore in America are hundreds of self help books to help folks overcome and cope with the struggles of life not to mention every translation of the Bible.
We have more than any other generation in material wealth. Most folks have 2 cars and young people make 3 times more that there grandparents ever did.
So what gives! I believe this world has become our consuming fire and not the Lord.
When things go bad we cry out to God but when all is well we forget His great love and mercy.
We need revival! Desperately! Not a visitation but a cohabitation as days of old and we can have this if we pray for it.
If will have to be a prayer of desperation with repentance.
I’ve seen this once in my life, revival, and when it happens no one will be able to deny the presence of the Lord. He will be your “All Consuming Fire”. You will be desperate for Him. All things will change in your life to please The Great I Am.
It is not to late and it just takes a remenate to have it. Amen!
Lord in the days of Nivena your prophet Jona spoke and a whole city repented. It can happen today Lord. Like it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land. Amen Lord! It’s not to late.
Come Lord quickly!
