Worship

When we think of worship, the picture of being in a church singing hymns, praying and praising come to mind, but Paul describes something different in his letter to the Romans.

In Romans 12:1 He tells them, “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”

Paul is telling us that we should devote our bodies, or our whole person, to our Lord. How we live each day is our worship.

Dear Lord, We are grateful for all you have provided us. Help us live lives that are positive examples of your love and bring attention to your saving grace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

  1. Amen John!
We are to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice Holy and acceptable unto Him. For this is our reasonable act of worship. Romans 12:1
The definition or reasonable is fair, sensible, moderate, rational, just, logical, equitable, wise, practical, sound, valid, intelligent, credible, tenable, plausible, acceptable, satisfactory or tolerable. Just to name a few.
In could be said as, We offer our bodies, which now belongs to You Lord, as a living sacrifice Holy and acceptable unto You to worship You because this is the “least” we can do to show our love and affection for You for what You did for us because we truly deserve hell.
I took some liberties, except for “the least”. We were given a body. Hands to clasp, arms to raise, knees to bow and a voice to cry out. We should be in the habit of using this body to worship already because when we get to heaven we all will be doing just that and I promise it will not look like you think it should. Praise God for that!
The last shall be first and the first shall be last and all our dignified worship shall be brought lowly along with us for the true worshippers shall worshall Him in “Spirit & Truth”. Amen!
Want some freedom! Worship the Lord as if their is no tomorrow because for some of us, their isn’t.
Lord, while I still have a voice I will praise Your name and sing of Your great love. You are our “Awesome God.” There is no one like You Oh God. Their will be no stones to cry our in my place Lord because You have given me a voice and I will use it to sing and declare the majesty of who You are.
Lord, Save some poor soul today and receive them unto yourselve. In Jesus name . Amen!
