The Cure

Luke 13:10-13 “On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.!”

Upon reading this text, it made me wonder, “How we determine if physical problem is caused by an evil spirit or is an illness is with a different cause?.” After studying in attempts to learn the answer this question, I thought, “Does it matter, the cause of the ailment?” what matters is that God is the cure.

When we or others face ailments, our hope should be in God for relief, cure or restoration. There is nothing, including death, that is beyond his power.

Dear Lord, You have power over all. No sickness, malady, or demon is beyond your control. Help us remember to put our faith and hope in your saving and restoring power. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

  1. Jesus heals some people and some are left with their infirmity. I don’t know why but in II Corinthians 12:9 it says,” My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. Amen!
Then in Matthew 13:54 it says,” And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.” Amen! This passage suggest that our healing depends on our faith. Faith healers love this one. Then in Luke 7:11-15, Jesus having compassion raised a woman’s son from the dead. Amen!
Many have caused their own infirmity by the way they have lived their life and others due to no fault of their own, have been burdened with infirmities.
My belief is that all these things about Jesus healing are true all the time. It all depends on the situation. His compassion, our faith and His purposes all play a part. Jesus is Lord. He doesn’t do anything without a purpose and sometimes He does nothing at all for a purpose. Still we are to walk by faith and inot by sight.
When David and Bethshebia’s son was dieing, David fasted and prayed until his servants told him the baby had died. Afterward he bathed, worshiped and ate and his servants asked why he did all that and David replied, “Who knows? The Lord may show mercy to me and let the child live.” II Samuel 12:22- Amen! That’s what everyone want’s when they come before the Lord. Mercy! Help! Understanding! Love! Compassion! An ear to listen.
Have a need, a burden, a stronghold or maybe a curse? Dr Jesus can fill that need, lift that burden, remove that stronghold and that curse or give you His power to “take up your cross and follow Jesus.”Matthew 16:24. Amen!
When the world is telling everyone that there are no absolutes and anything and everything goes even when it’s contrary to “The Bible”, the Lord says,” I have overcome the world.” Amen!
Do you hear that voice? It is the voice of the Almighty. saying,”This is the way, walk in it” Isaiah 30:21. Amen!
