Text: Matthew 6:31-33 NIV So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Think for a moment, If you could drop everything and do whatever you wanted today, no limits, what would it be? There are so many great things on this earth to experience.
God made these things for us.
The beauty and awe of natural wonders like the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, the great mountain ranges, the beauty of finely crafted products, clothing, fantastic foods. There is nothing irreverent about wanting these things.
What Jesus tells us is that we should, first, search for, and pursue, His kingdom and righteousness.
This means keeping Him first in our thoughts; trying continuously to determine what he would want us to do.
King David wrote in the Psalms, “take delight in The Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Dear Lord Help me keep you first in my thoughts and know that if I keep searching for your will for me you will guide my steps and give me all that I need, want, and more, in Jesus Name. Amen.
